The Polygon Labs team is very proud to announce the official launch on the main network (in beta version) of its first layer 2 based on the concept of “Zero Knowledge” validity proofs.
Indeed, the startup behind the Polygon platform, announced on Monday the opening of the mainnet beta of its Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) based on zero knowledge proofs (ZKP).
Unveiled in the summer of 2022, Polygon zkEVM is a ZKP-based scaling solution compatible with the entire Ethereum ecosystem.
The deployment of the zkEVM network is the culmination of a lot of hard work for the Polygon Labs technical team. Although the network is still in beta phase, it took the collaboration of several hundred developers (including volunteers) to ensure the security of the new protocol.
Mihailo Bjelic, Polygon’s co-founder says:
Polygon’s zkEVM protocol allows to deploy any Ethereum application without modification using its own Ethereum-specific development tools such as Remix, while interacting with the network using traditional wallets such as MetaMask.
Last month, Polygon Labs indicated that the beta version would be released on March 27, 2023. The deadline has thus been met.
