NFL and Bitwallet : To accept cryptocurrencies for unique game suites BlockBlog

The Houston Texans professional American soccer team has revealed that it has entered into an exclusive partnership with Bitwallet. The deal will give Houston Texans fans the ability to purchase unique game suites with cryptocurrencies.

To provide an exciting option for our fans!

On Tuesday, crypto-wallet company Bitwallet announced that the company has signed an agreement with the Houston Texans of the National Football League (NFL).

The NFL team will allow fans to purchase unique game suites and pay with four different digital assets. Bitwallet’s website, which notes that it is the “official wallet of the Houston Texans,” shows that the company’s software supports bitcoin (BTC), litecoin (LTC), bitcoin cash (BCH) and ethereum (ETH).

We are proud to partner with Bitwallet to provide an exciting option for our fans to enjoy the Texans game in one of our suites,” said Greg Grissom, president of the Houston Texans in a statement. Grissom added that the NFL team is continuing its efforts to move the “organization forward in new and innovative ways.

The Texans also claim to be the first team in the league to accept cryptos for suite sales. Meanwhile, in recent times, a few NFL teams have been open to crypto exposure via sponsorship deals. In mid-April 2022, Blockchain.com partnered with the Dallas Cowboys and in May 2021, Grayscale Investments became the official digital currency asset management partner of the New York Giants.

In addition, a number of NFL players, including Odell Beckham Jr. Saquon Barkley, Russell Okung, Aaron Jones, Patrick Mahomes, Rob ‘Gronk’ Gronkowski, and Tom Brady have invested in cryptocurrencies, supported non-fungible token (NFT) projects, participated in crypto giveaways, or been paid in bitcoins. In addition to the NFL, other professional sports teams have also gotten into crypto. In mid-March 2021, the Oakland Athletics (A’s) of Major League Baseball (MLB) accepted bitcoin for full-season suites.

In making the announcement, Bitwallet CEO John T. Perrone, said the company was honored to offer Texas fans the opportunity to use cryptocurrency.

Digital currency has become a primary means of payment and by partnering with BitWallet, the Texans are leading the way in the NFL,” Perrone noted. Founded in 1999, the Houston Texans are one of four NFL teams that have never reached the Super Bowl.
