Miley Cyrus joined the metaverse

Mike Kondoudis, a trademark attorney licensed by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, revealed in a tweet that American singer Miley Cyrus will use her trademark in :

  • clothing and energy drink concepts,
  • entertainment services,
  • virtual currency management software,
  • virtual clothing, footwear and sporting goods.

So far, Cyrus has just purchased two non-fungible token-related brands, but if it goes ahead and launches virtual products and services, it would be the artist’s first independent venture into the metaverse.

The trademarks Cyrus purchased are registered under serial numbers 97551201 and 97551195.

Miley Cyrus becomes Gucci Beauty’s first ever guest avatar

According to media reports, earlier this month, Gucci Beauty also invited Miley Cyrus into the metaverse as its first-ever avatar guest, where Cyrus took over Gucci Town from Roblox to create an immersive experience inspired by Gucci Flora.

Gucci Town is the brand’s virtual destination for the growing Gucci community and seeks to create a space for shared creative experiences and connection.

Last year, the SOS Foundation – a decentralized, community-based token dedicated to supporting humanitarian programs, preserving creative arts communities and protecting the planet’s environmental resources – donated to Miley Cyrus’ Happy Hippie Foundation, with a mission to rally young people to fight the injustice faced by homeless youth, LGBTQ youth and other vulnerable populations.

Over the next five years, Juniper Research predicts there will be 40 million NFT transactions. The research study predicts that metaverse-related use cases will be a major factor in the widespread application of NFT.

These specific NFTs will grow at a substantial rate over the next 5 years. There will be 9.8 million transactions using NFTs connected to the metaverse by 2027, up from 600,000 in 2022.

The development of the metaverse, the proposition popularized by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg late last year, is adding new businesses every day looking to not be left out of what is presumed to be one of the most million dollar moving businesses in the coming years.

On Aug. 16, Cyrus filed signature applications with the USPTO for the names “Miley” and “Miley Cyrus,” according to a tweet from NFT and Metaverse trademark attorney Mike Kondoudis.

In related news, in May , it was made public that Billie Eilish, a popular songwriter and singer, had actually registered her name and the Blohsh logo through her company, Lash Music LLC.

Snoop Dog, an American artist, is making tremendous inroads into the NFT and metaverse after submitting new trademark applications for several items in June. The rap artist has also linked fellow rapper Eminem to NFTs. Both of their NFTs Bored Ape are included in a song that was recently released.
