Ledger unveils extension to connect to DApps

Ledger is now offering a browser extension to connect a Nano X wallet “directly” to decentralized applications.

In other words, this extension allows you to simply connect to web3 apps using a physical wallet. It is, for the moment, reserved for Safari, but a Chrome version (and for other Chromium browsers) is coming.

Indeed, on Thursday, the French unicorn Ledger announced the beta launch of “Ledger Extension”.

According to a blog post, the solution offers Ledger Nano X owners the ability to easily connect from a Safari browser to DApps or NFT marketplaces, preview transactions before signing transactions or receive alerts in case of security issues.

The Ledger extension solves one of the biggest problems of Web3 today: connectivity. It makes interacting with applications and platforms easier and faster than ever, while remaining secure. Too often, our industry has sacrificed security or accessibility. Ledger corrects that. This is a real step forward for Web3″, trumpeted Ian Rogers, Chief Experience Officer at Ledger.

According to the announcement, the feature, compatible for now with Ethereum and Polygon networks (with more to come including Solana), will also be available to owners of Nano S Plus and Stax, the latest product from the world’s number 1 hardware wallet company.

Finally, we learn that Chrome or Brave users will also soon be able to use Ledger Extension.
