Kraken : David Ripley takes over as the new CEO

Kraken, one of the world’s leading crypto exchanges, has named a new CEO. David Ripley, who previously served as COO, has succeeded Jesse Powell, who founded the company in 2011.

Indeed, in September 2022, Kraken had announced the resignation of its CEO Jesse Powell, who was to be replaced by David Ripley, then COO of this major crypto exchange competitor to Binance.

7 months later, the company has just announced that David Ripley is officially taking the helm of the crypto exchange as the new CEO of Kraken.

12 years of Kraken mission-driven!

Ripley brings a wealth of experience to the position, having previously held executive positions at a number of financial services companies. He joined Kraken in 2019 and has played a key role in the company’s growth and development over the past several years.

In a statement announcing Ripley’s appointment, Powell said he was “excited to see David take the reins at Kraken.” He praised Ripley’s “exceptional leadership skills” and “deep knowledge of the crypto industry.”

Mr. Ripley said he was “honored” to assume the role of CEO and pledged to continue Kraken’s tradition of excellence. He added that he would focus on expanding the company’s services and strengthening its global presence.

David Ripley, Kraken’s new CEO, said:

“Jesse’s leadership over the past 12 years has helped make Kraken the mission-driven powerhouse it is today.

As we move forward, the challenges and opportunities will continue to change, but Kraken’s mission and values will remain deeply embedded in its DNA. We remain committed to driving crypto adoption and unlocking its full potential while keeping our customers at the forefront of everything we do.”

Despite the challenges ahead, David Ripley’s appointment has been widely welcomed by the crypto community, with many expressing confidence in his ability to lead Kraken into the future.
